Joe is a licensed captain with the US Coast Guard and has a 34' captain's jig outfitted for chartering and sight seeing. Our ocean front lodging will sleep 6 or more guests with additional lodging and boats available for larger parties. Joe fishes with a maximum of 6 and we usually only book one group at a time. Many vacationers enjoy a trip to the Hot Springs. Meals are from a variety of Alaskan favorites. Please let us know if you have any food preferences.

The first week of June has been incredible! We are limiting on king salmon and halibut. The catch has included a 100# halibut and two 70# ling cod. Red snapper, rockfish and bass are also in abundance. We are told that our accommodations and food can't be beat and that Captain Joe is the best!
In July and August our clients limited on silver salmon and halibut. One day a 300# & 180# halibut were caught. No one took home more fish! Whales were seen every week along with the sea lions, seals, otters, etc...
Pelican Joe's is gearing up for another great summer in Alaska. Our clients agree with us that we have found the very best place for fishing, sightseeing, and lodging. We have received many thank you letters. Not only was the fishing awesome; the sour dough bread, pies, and incredible seafood were all greatly appreciated.
Pelican is close to the fish and all the wildlife. It has the right balance of remoteness and conveniences, and being right on the ocean, there are few bugs. Turn around ferry service from Juneau comes to Pelican every two weeks starting with Sunday, June 4 and costs around $40. Charter seaplanes make at least two trips to Pelican from Juneau every day in the summer. Air fare is about $100 per person and one week advance notice (or less) is all you need. We will be glad to help with arrangements.
